The National Gambling Office (ONJN) is the state authority that supervises and controls gambling in Romania.
Taking part in gambling on websites that are not authorised in Romania is an administrative offence, and ONJN may fine players.
If you are among those targeted, you should know that ONJN can obtain data from gaming accounts (phone number, bank account, e-mail, IP address) and may contact you, often by phone, to invite you to its offices so that a fine report can be drawn up.
If you do not attend, the report is drawn up in your absence and sent to your home address.
As soon as you receive a fine report or are contacted by ONJN, it is advisable to consult a lawyer straight away.
