In legal writing, civil law is defined as the branch of law that governs property and non-property relations between natural and/or legal persons who stand on an equal legal footing. Property relations include rights such as public and/or private ownership and its variations — usufruct, use, habitation, servitude and superficies — and obligations such as management of another’s affairs, unjust enrichment and payment of sums not owed.
Non-property relations cover the elements that identify a person — name, domicile, residence, civil status records — and the person’s existence and physical and moral integrity: the right to honour, to dignity, to free expression and to one’s own image.
We offer legal services both as advisers and as representatives in court. We can act for you at every level of the Romanian courts — district courts, tribunals, courts of appeal and the High Court of Cassation and Justice — and before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. We can represent you in any kind of civil case and propose the right strategy for resolving the civil disputes in your life.
We provide the support you need to defend and enforce rights and legitimate interests arising from civil-law relations: rights and obligations, contracts, ownership and co-ownership, tort liability, property and personal insurance, tenancy, guarantees, honour and dignity, and more.
