The office and the team

Alina Szilaghi

I have been a lawyer since 2004, a member of the Cluj Bar Association, and I completed the initial professional training programme of Romania’s National Institute for the Training and Professional Development of Lawyers (INPPA) in 2005–2006. My practice covers advisory work and litigation in business law — companies, commercial contracts, insolvency — and in civil law: property, contracts, enforcement, inheritance and family.

The aim of the office is to protect the interests of companies and other clients through advice, assistance and representation: amicable solutions wherever possible, and a clear strategy when litigation cannot be avoided.

Our team and partner network include collaborating lawyers, tax advisers, auditors and court enforcement officers (bailiffs). We work closely with our external specialists to provide 360° solutions.

How we work

From your first message to a solution

  1. Write or call. Tell us briefly what happened and any deadlines. We reply within one business day.
  2. The consultation. At the office, online or by phone: we review the documents and explain your options, costs and risks.
  3. The legal services contract. Fees and tasks are agreed in writing before work starts.
  4. Representation. We draft documents, negotiate, represent you before courts and authorities and keep you informed at every stage.

Frequently asked questions

Where do you work?

The office has premises in Cluj-Napoca (89 Calea Dorobanților) and Bucharest (11 Luceafărului Street). We assist and represent clients before courts and authorities throughout Romania, and consultations can also be held online or by phone.

Do you work with companies?

Yes. Advising companies is the main focus of the office: corporate and commercial law, litigation, gambling law, tax, intellectual property, construction and real estate, regulatory compliance, banking and finance, and IT, telecoms and media. For continuing needs there are retained legal services for a periodic fee set by contract.

Can a Romanian lawyer help a foreign company or a client living abroad?

Yes. Company, contract, enforcement and many personal matters can be handled in Romania without repeated trips. We prepare the documents, file them and represent you; where your presence is required by law we plan it so that the visit is as short as possible.

How are fees set?

Romanian lawyers’ fees are agreed freely with the client, according to the complexity and time involved, and written into the legal services contract before work starts. We tell you the consultation fee when you book. See Fees.

Do you work in English?

Yes. Consultations, correspondence and documents can be in English or Romanian. Court hearings in Romania are held in Romanian; we arrange certified translations where needed.
